Is it normal to feel very tired and sleep a lot?
Yes, this is completely normal. Your body is investing a lot of energy into the healing process. It is important to listen to your body and allow yourself the necessary rest.
I noticed changes in my appetite and some weight loss. Should I be concerned?
Changes in appetite are common after surgery and can lead to temporary weight loss. We recommend monitoring your weight and checking for stabilization approximately one month after the procedure
Is it normal to still feel pain at the incision site after leaving the hospital?
Yes, it is normal to experience discomfort or pain around the scar area after discharge. It is important to remember that pain is a very subjective experience; every patient perceives and tolerates it differently, and there is no "standard" level of discomfort. Muscle pain that changes with your position or localized pain when pressure is applied to the scar is often part of the healing process. If the pain persists, becomes unmanageable, or changes significantly, consult your GP (family doctor) or your cardiac surgeon.
